Unfortunately, I think each industry may prefer slightly different behaviors, so for now I've implemented just one to try it out.

The first week of the year that includes a Monday will be treated as Week #1. If January 1st falls on a Tuesday, for instance, then Jan1-5 will be treated as Week #0. On the other hand, if January 1st falls on a Monday, then there is no "week 0" that year. Unfortunately, there's no good way for SlickRun to know about holidays, so systems that require such knowledge cannot be presently supported.

---

I've also released an updated version [v2.0.5] of Mezer Tools @ (www.bayden.com/mezer). The only difference in the new build is that both Mezer and Docker.dll opt-in to DEP/ASLR. Unfortunately, because docker.dll is in constant use, the only way to update it is to uninstall Mezer, reboot, and then install the newest Mezer.Ericlawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-45733750422650493182009-05-30T15:01:00.000-07:002009-05-30T15:03:40.146-07:00SlickRun AlphaI've put together a new build of SlickRun which offers a few bugfixes and support (in the command line and Jot, at least) for Unicode characters.

The new code is built using Delphi 2009, which hopefully will allow me to make some long awaited (albeit minor) improvements in the near-term.

If there's a small tweak you've been waiting for, now would be a good time to ask for it!Ericlawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-74192584771660288562009-01-14T17:24:00.000-08:002009-01-14T17:28:02.964-08:00IEToys: x64 ButtonEver find yourself wondering why a page doesn’t work, and after much investigation, you realize that you somehow opened the page in 64bit IE? Was your annoyance compounded by the need to manually open 32bit IE and copy over the current URL to see Flash and other contain not available in 64bit IE?

(No? Okay, maybe it was just me. :-)

However, if you know anyone like me, they might like this trivial little extension.

Install x64Button

When installed, it puts an “Open in 32bit IE” icon in the IE64 toolbar. It also shows up in Manage Add-ons, so the 64-bit version of the dialog isn’t entirely desolate.

As always, bug reports, suggestions, etc, greatly appreciated.

-EricEriclawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-5274941288086560962008-09-17T22:56:00.000-07:002008-09-17T22:57:53.219-07:00New MezerTools Beta (v2.0)I've released a new Beta version of the MezerTools screen capture utility. Primary new feature is the ability to save in PNG format.

Please see http://www.bayden.com/mezer/. The new version is statically linked to the runtime library, simplifying the installation somewhat.Ericlawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-44182893538466529732007-10-26T12:16:00.000-07:002007-10-26T12:18:37.928-07:00SlickRun AlphaIn the new SlickRun Alpha, hitting SHIFT+DOWN will pop a menu of matches against the currently typed text.

Another feature (not currently completed) under construction is hitting SHIFT+UP to search your start menu for any matches against the currently typed text.

These features definitely need more work, but you might find them useful even in their current form.Ericlawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-19950665854957888432007-07-09T14:44:00.000-07:002007-07-09T14:48:17.601-07:00MezerTools and Window ManagementI don't know if I've ever mentioned the Docker.dll features inside Bayden Mezer Tools.

Docker.dll runs by default when Mezer Tools starts and lets you double-click on any window border to grow that window to the screen edge. This is particularly useful on large monitors where you want to grow a window, but don't want to maximize it.

You can also Control-Double-Click a window title bar to swap it between monitors if you have Windows configured for multiple-monitor support.Ericlawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-28144719852421137922007-03-14T13:53:00.000-07:002007-03-14T13:54:25.650-07:00New SlickRun Beta (3.9.8.2)v3.9.8.2 Beta (14 Mar 2007) http://www.bayden.com/dl/sr-setup-beta.exe

Enabled RunAs support to enable elevation on Vista. This is probably* going to be the final v3.x version of SlickRun before SlickRun's complete rewrite in C# takes over as SlickRun v4.

Please give SlickRun 3.9.8 Beta (170Kb) a try and let me know immediately if you encounter any problems with it that you didn't see in prior versions.

v3.9.8 Beta (2 Mar 2007)
+ Fix for loss of MagicWords on Shutdown when an "empty" MagicWord was in library+ Fix for crash on shutdown on Windows Vista
+ New [GENERAL] option named AggressiveShowWindow. Set to 0 to try to prevent compat problems with other aggressive applications.
+ New [GENERAL] option named AggressiveStayOnTop. Set to 0 to prevent SlickRun from pushing itself topmost on every timer tick.

* I may elect to add a few of the simpler feature requests I've seen in this forum, but most of the major new features will only be available in SlickRun v4. SlickRun SLUGsWhile SlickRun's plugin system never really took off (and was barely mentioned, for that matter), I did release one plugin. Unzip this file into a new "Slugs" folder you've created at C:\Program Files\SlickRun\Slugs\ folder. After SlickRun is restarted, every hour it will play an hourly chime. You can also type time to launch the Time/Date control panel.Ericlawhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01629629616618375542noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14104459.post-1161757373042579382006-10-24T23:22:00.000-07:002006-10-24T23:22:53.053-07:00IEToys UpdatedI've updated the IEToys package with a ProxyPick extension.
